Summer Sesshin 2008 – Zen Community of Baltimore/Clare Sangha

Registration is now open for Summer Sesshin.

When: Check-in 4:30pm Sunday, July 20, supper at 5:15pm, sesshin starts at 7:00pm. Sesshin ends with lunch Saturday, July 26.

Where: Precious Blood Spiritual Center, 3950 Columbia Ave, Columbia, PA 17512. (See directions on website: www.pbspiritualcenter.org).

Sesshin Theme: Living the precepts.

Team Teaching: Bruce Seiryu Blackman, Sensei, ZCB/Clare Sangha;
Barbara Shoshin Craig, Sensei, Flowing River Sangha;
Merle Kodo Boyd, Sensei, Lincroft Zen Sangha;
other White Plum and Zen Peacemaker teachers, part-time.

Sesshin cost: July 20 through July 26 ($375). Full participation is strongly recommended. Day and mini-sesshin options are available in consultation with the Registrar.

Registration closes Tuesday, July 15. Full payment is due upon arrival. Please make checks payable to ZCB/Clare Sangha. Scholarship assistance is available and should be requested with registration. Early registration is recommended as spaces are limited.

Accommodations: Single room with sink; communal bathrooms and showers.

Cushions and Mats: Please bring your own cushion/mat/bench.

Schedule: Silent Zen format, 6:30am to 9:00pm, with dharma talks, optional private interviews, chanting, and meal, tea/coffee, and rest practices. There will be council (precept circle) and a 108 Day Bead Ceremony at the end of sesshin.
